Fried Cube Steak with Brown Pan Gravy

This is a great quick & easy meal for a night where you need to get dinner on the table quickly. It's also delicious comfort food that is budget friendly. We like to eat this with white rice and corn or peas.

Ingredients

4 round steaks or cube steaks

1 cup flour

1 1/2 tsp Lawry's Black Pepper Seasoning

(you can use regular lawry's + add black pepper)

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 can beef broth

1 tsp beef base

Directions

In a gallon ziplock bag, mix flour, lawry's & smoked paprika. Then add your steaks and shake until coated. Meanwhile, heat your skillet on medium high heat then add oil to cover the bottom of the skillet. Cook steaks until they are golden brown, flip and cook about 2 minutes more until golden. Remove steaks to a paper towel lined plate. Keep the heat on but turn down to about medium heat, whisk in about 1/3 cup of the flour mixture from the ziplock bag. Cook for a minute or two then whisk in 1 can of beef broth and a spoonful of beef base. Let simmer until thickened, salt & pepper to taste.

Enjoy your steak over rice topped with lots of gravy!

** Before starting all this, start your rice on the stove, rick cooker or in the instant pot.
